Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Based on Logical Formalism for Forensic Evidence Analysis

چکیده
─Proficiency in decision making is a very important aspect in forensic investigation. Computational intelligence is one of the methods that support the investigation for assisting decision making process. This paper discusses about representing knowledge using logic scheme, it has been developed using Prolog as one of the logic programming language. In order to facilitate forensic evidence analysis, a knowledge base system has been developed. It shows how the knowledge can be represented from the Horn clause logic to the Prolog form and inference mechanism. In conclusion from the obtained results, it shows that the developed knowledge base can support decision making in forensic evidence analysis.

Extending the Qualitative Trajectory Calculus Based on the Concept of Accessibility of Moving Objects in the Paths
Qualitative spatial representation and reasoning are among the important capabilities in intelligent geospatial information system development. Although a large contribution to the study of moving objects has been attributed to the quantitative use and analysis of data, such calculations are ineffective when there is little inaccurate data on position and geometry or when explicitly explaining ...
متن کاملAn Abstract Logical Approach to Characterizing Strong Equivalence in Logic-based Knowledge Representation Formalisms
We consider knowledge representation (KR) formalisms as collections of finite knowledge bases with a model-theoretic semantics. In this setting, we show that for every KR formalism there is a formalism that characterizes strong equivalence in the original formalism, that is unique up to isomorphism and that has a model theory similar to classical logic.
متن کاملLp, a logic for representing and reasoning with statistical knowledge
This paper presents a logical formalism for representing and reasoning with statistical knowledge. One of the key features of the formalism is its ability to deal with qualitative statistical information. It is argued that statistical knowledge, especially that of a qualitative nature, is an important component of our world knowledge and that such knowledge is used in many di erent reasoning ta...
متن کاملDomain Knowledge Articulation using Integration Graphs
In order to be queried and reused, different domain knowledge bases must be shared using the same representation. In this paper, we introduce a graph-based knowledge model to articulate independently developed ontologies that describe the same application domain. Our knowledge representation formalism is based on a new type of graphs denoted as “hierarchical graphs”. This representation provide...
متن کاملConceptual Reasoning Conceptual Reasoning Belief, Multiple Agents and Preference
One of the central issues in the area of knowledge representation and reasoning is common sense reasoning. This includes logics of knowledge and belief, nonmonotonic reasoning, truth-maintenance, and belief revision. Within these elds the notion of a consistent belief state is the crucial one. Additionally, there is a growing interest in partial information states. Within this interest informat...
